Hiyaking in 2007

Second Year (2007):
Hard to believe but alas another year is now history, and soon to be forgotten. At least the 35 hiyaks documented will be easy to relive virtually. Simply click on the appropriate link below.
Ah, it's wonderful to live in the new millenium isn't it. Even 20 years ago this was not possible. Natasha at the age of 11 is making videos, uploading them and storing them on video blog sites like YouTube. At her age I was still playing marbles and Matchbox cars in the dirt. Computers were the stuff of the sci-fi movies or books I read.
Overall it was a good year for hiyaking, though the weather turned rainy for much of last quarter of the year. Hence many of those weekends were hiyaking dudes.
And though 35 hiyaks is a record, I hope to break that record in 2008.
So, below you'll find all our second year hiyaking chronicles for 2007. We've seen many new sights, discovered many new trails and experienced many new feelings. We were never the first or the fastest doing these hiyaks, but we broke many personal milestones.
Olomana, the year's final hike, was by far the scariest. And like last year in the stories below you will continue to find lots of sole and soul searching.
As always, Happy Hiyaking to you!
